Shingrix for Patients

Inman Pharmacy, Inc. is now offering Shingrix® shots for prevention of shingles also known as herpes zoster. If you are 60 years old or older you should think about getting vaccinated. Shingles is caused by the same virus that causes chickenpox during childhood. Once you have chickenpox as a child, the virus can stay in your body (in your nervous system) for many years. As you age the virus can become active again and cause shingles. People who get shingles usually have a rash on one side of their body. This rash can be very itchy and very painful. Shingrix® has been shown to prevent shingles, and lessen the pain and itchiness of shingles for those who still get it. If you are interested in getting Shingrix we can vaccinate you. Simply come to our pharmacy any weekday between 9am - 4pmor by appointment if you prefer. Please bring your insurance information. We will bill your insurance and tell you your copay before hand. We will then vaccinate you and then inform your physician so this can be added to your medical record. This is a once in a lifetime vaccination at this time.
